Here's 20 NEW things you should know about my 20 month old....

1. He can Y-E-L-L! The longer you don't answer him, the louder he can get...
2. Loves to play in the dishwasher...
3. Thinks the oddest things are FUNNY
4. Gives kisses to little girls and boys... whether they want them or not... ((side note: at what age do you discourage that...???))
5. Can Say: "Gann" for Grammie
6. "toot toot"
7. "tee tee"
((and NO not cause the is potty training or even thinking of such))
8. "Cat"
9. "Shoe"
10. Follows directions very well - when HE wants to...
11. Has been "attacked" ((not really just a scrap and a small cut)) by a dog.
12. Has a variety of nick names: Bug, Buggy, Buggy Boo, Boo Boo, Boo, and Mathen ((courtesy of his day care lady Mrs Carolyn))
13. Can say "Hug"
14 Calls my grandma "mawww"
15. Loves the "Hot Dog" song, he can move and shake to it like no ones business!
16. Can say "move" and doesn't mind telling someone to do so....
17. Loves the BIG lego blocks
18. Will bring you the phone when it rings, cause he usually has it...
19. LOVES to play on the computer.... and only a REAL one will do...
20. Athen is the C-U-T-E-S-T Bug I have ever seen!

KEVIN GOT A JOB AT SMITH NORTH VIEW!!!!!!!!

its PRN, but still its a job - in radiology! I am sooooooo proud of him! You should see me, like a proud mama! After all, I am the one that raised him

Project...

Well, once I get an idea in my pretty little head - it must be executed... that being said... here's is my latest and greatest project, I am very proud! ((btw, I MADE this.... ok well I bought the frame and then had the mat made to my specifications... then I put the words on there and then the pictures... just didn't want anyone to think you could go and BUY this =) ))

A Fun Filled Fourth

We had a GREAT 4th of July... Filled with Food, Family, Fun and Fireworks.

However, The only part of that that was captured on camera was the fireworks part....

Anyway, here's some picture of Athen's FIRST fireworks show.... I was afraid that would be too loud for him ((he doesn't like loud nosies)) but he really liked them, but then didn't understand why he couldn't HAVE them.... oh and plus they didn't start till 9:30 which is an hour and half past his bed time.... you can only imagine...

I too, going private...

I have gone back and forth back and forth on whether or not to make Bug’s Blog “private” On one hand, I can’t believe that I even started one that wasn’t cause of how “odd” I am about having his face and fact out there for the world to see. Then on the other, I know there are random people that I am know that check on him from time to time and will probably stop once I go private… well I have decided that its best for me to make Bug’s blog private. HOWEVER if you would like to continue to see my beautiful Buggy, you can email me and let me know you wish to still view it and I will grant you access to it…

19 NEW Things You Should Know About my 19 Month Old (and I am doing it ON the day, super impressed?)


1.Not only does he sleep with a pacie in his mouth, he now has one for each hand as well.
2.Can point to objects in a book and name them ie: “cup” “quack quack” (duck) “ball”
3.Can say “ouch”
4.Knows who you are in a picture
5.OH, knows how to put the key in the 4wheeler
6.turn the key in 4wheeler
7.push the button to crank the 4wheeler
8.and knows how to make it “GO”
9.Spends a lot of time with Dada on 4wheeler (couldn’t have guessed that one, could ya?)
10.knows where his nose, eyes, ears, and mouth is.
11.knows what it means when you say “do you need your hiney (sp?) changed?”
12.does NOT like loud noses
13.He and diezel are BFF’s
14.he will stay quietly in his crib until someone comes to get him (LOVE that kid!)
15.pinches YOU and HE says “ouch”
16.gives you a kiss when you say “Love You”
17.lifts up your shirt and tickles your tummy and says “tickle tickle”
18.Can already give the “Randy Walker look”
19.He is a member of the Clean Plate Club….

I have more pictures of my little buggy... UNFORTUNATELY (hint hint aunt Nikki) they are just some snap shots that I got at home... He's getting the concept of the camera and "cheese"


Not too much news on the home front... Kevin got word I would say...ummm sometime last week I guess (my weeks run together theses days) that it would be after the first of July before he would hear anything on the job at the doctor's office... I guess that just gives us more time to pray about it....


Bug is chatting up a storm theses days... he can say lots of things... ((I will have to save them for his 19th month old post so I will have 19 "new" things to say about him...))


thats about it, oh and please pray for Kevin and I as we have come to a hard decision concerning some family.

Job...?

Could BE! Kevin is the doctor's office that he had an interview with first pick, HOWEVER (you knew there would be one...) they are not ready to bring anyone (ie: Kevin) in yet cause they are switching to all digital and the equipment has not come in or been set up... with that said... we are waiting...

Buggy news, oh I have a sick baby! Friday mom took him to doctor - Sinus Infection (( I didn't know kids that young could get them...?)) Kinda sickly over the weekend but nothing earth stopping... Monday 3:00 pm comes, phone rings at work... Its Mrs Carolyn.... Bug has a fever, and is shaking... I am out the door and sitting in doctors office by 3:20... They took his temp 103.2 (under the arm) have him med right there in the office... they were not alarmed, me on the other day... BASKET CASE!
Oh, and they believe he may have something like strep and his ears are infected...
For those who are keep track... that is: sinus infection, throat infection of some kind, ear infection, and fever....
Bug you can't keep my little man down... he's a trooper... he even went to daycare today... (thankfully, cause we all work around here...)
However he is yelling right now, so I am going to see out of the 15 million different meds we have for him what to give him next...

I am going to attempt to list 18 things about my 18 month old…

1.LOVES to watch Baby Einstein movies “mooov” That’s the only thing he really watches
2.Is more of a daddy’s boy than a mama’s boy
3.Still has a pacie… ((only at bed time))
4.Can drink from a straw
5.HATES to take baths anywhere but at home
6.LOVES diezel…. “dieeeez”
7.Will pretty much eat anything that you put in front of him...
8.Has an 8:00pm bed time
9.Can blow kisses
10.Can say the following words and KNOW that they mean… “more” “cup” “bite” “bye” “nite nite” “Jett” and my FAV “uh-oh”
11.Can really Bust-a-Move, he L-O-V-E-S music
12.Knows what shoes are and where they go…
13.When ever he sees Kevin and I kiss he HAS to give us kisses as well
14.Doesn’t really drink milk anymore
15.Has a TEMPER ((he gets that from his mama))
16.Surprisingly knows his name is “Athen” when hardly any one calls him that…
17.Can work up a sweat in no time
18.Last but not least, He’s PERFECT – flaws and all =)
18 1/2 (thought of another) Bug can't go to sleep if he hasn't seen both of us that day. Sometimes Kevin doesnt' get home till after 8 (aka bed time) buggy will wait up and NOT go to sleep until Kevin comes in and at least spends a few minutes with him, then he's fine, its "ok" to go to sleep... all is right in his world.

18 months Old...

Buggy is a year and a half! I can't believe it!

He had his check up Friday and only one shot and the BEST news is that's IT with the shots till He's FOUR!!!! YIPPEE!

I don't know his stats... I wasn't there on the weigh in and measuring, his daddy was - best he can remember 28lbs and 35 in tall.

Doctor didn't give me his info on the growth chart... that was probably cause he was SCREAMING ((cause someone thought it would be a GOOD idea for them to do his shots BEFORE the doctor seen him... needless to say it was down hill from there))

Anyhoo, yet again she confirmed what we already know, his perfect!

I have stumbled upon some tasty and HEALTH treats for my little one. Just thought I would pass on the new (well new to me) info...

These are just like gold fish but All-Natural AND Organic... I don't really see the need to feed Athen "junk" so I try and feed him as healthy as possible (yeah yeah I know " do as I say not as I do...")

Anyhoo, thought it was worth mentioning...

... could be! Kevin received so encouraging news today. The doctor office that he interviewed with was very much impressed with him and has intentions on hiring him. They are bring in all new digital equipment and is going to a take some time to make the transition. So it maybe middle to late next week before he knows anything FOR SURE…. But hey, that’s a step in the right direction…
Keep those prayers coming, its getting HOT out there…

No news is NOT good news... whomever said that was an idiot!
Have not heard either way on the job prospect for Kevin. He SHOULD hear something by the end of the week...
Today with the temp topping out at over 90 degrees Kevin is SOOOO done with construction. Yeah, it isnt even "hot" yet...

So thats it... OHHH and a BIG pat on the back to Bev for learning how to use a computer!!!
I am going to come and see you soon Bev, may need to borrow your pool and teach Buggy how to swim.. *kisses*

One last thing, for those who aren't keeping track - Buggy turned 18 months old yesterday!!!! I took a picture of him, but it was while he was sleeping, only took it so I would have one on the day the turned 1 1/2 years old.

Weekend Recap

So as you know ((read below)) that Saturday marked the FIFTH year of our wedding, shocker - I know =)
Anyhoo, come Friday about 5:30ish we headed south for a long weekend, Just the two of us...
Got to our Hotel about 10ish, checked in, checked the place out and off to bed. At the CRACK of dawn Kevin was up and ready to hit the water... so we fished all day ((Kevin "won", he did catch the most)) then we went out to a nice dinner ((THANKS Grandma!)) and hit the hay... Sunday was a repeat of the day before. We were to stay on till Monday but we missed Buggy SOOO much that we came home late Sunday night so we could see him bright and early Monday morning...
We got up and got Buggy, then Nikki, Eric ((SOOOO glad you are home Eric!)), and Jett went to Wild Adventures to the water park... I for one have had enough "fun in the sun" to last me for some time...

Today Mrs Carolyn was closed ((day care)) so a HUGE THANK YOU to Mrs Beth and Mr Bill Newcomb ((now known as grandma and grandpa to Athen)) for keeping Athen today. Bug LOVED them, which if you know him you would know is a HUGE deal cause the does NOT like strangers... I am pretty sure they are drawing up the adoption papers to be his new grandparents... =)

Memory Lane: OPEN

Come this Saturday it will be FIVE years that Kevin and I have been married... WOW! Time flies! I don't feel 25 years old, I don't feel like I have been married for 5 years nor do I feel like I am old enough to have a 18 month old....

It has been five wonderful years... ((luckily I really don't have the best memory and seems that only the "good ones" stick....))

Kevin is such a wonderful husband and father... I couldn't have asked for better. God has truly blessed me and my family. Kevin is a wonderful asset to our family.

((I am SURE it goes without saying - but I will anyway - that I am a wonderful wife, just ask Kevin))

This weekend for our anniversary we are going fishing - where we went on our honeymoon (just let again prof that I am a great wife= ))

We are staying in St. Augustine, we are very excited! Thanks to Grammie, Papa, Aunt Nikki, Uncle Eric, and Aunt Sherry for watching Buggy for us. We know he will be well taken care of!

Wish Kevin luck on beating me in fishing - he's going to need it! ((I whooped him last time 8 to 4!!))

WA Weekend!

Not only did we hit Wild Adventures Saturday but we also went back again on Sunday to the water park...

Grammie, Nikki, Jett, Bug, and I set out Saturday morning to go to Wild Adventures - and that it was... We went for the purpose of seeing a play that was going on there for one day only. Well it was OVER Bug's head and Jett was afraid that if he stayed in there when he got out it would be "dark time" (aka night) and he wouldn't get to play... so playing win out of the play.

While we were there Saturday, we went to LOOK at the water park cause none of us had ever seen it... well someone should have told us that it was NOT a good idea to take a five year old to a water park and tell him he could NOT get in... we weren't prepared for any WATER fun...

Thus the trip BACK on Sunday which turned out to be nice cause there were lots less people there...

Jett had to "warm up" to the water ((in more ways than one - it was FREEZING))

Bug also had to warm up to it... he's wasn't "all about it" too many big kids for him...

...or not, there's no "news" to tell... and in this case no news is NOT good news... =(

Happy Mothers Day!

Boy have I had a GREAT mothers day.... (or should I say week) My Mothers Day gift was the BEST EVER - Kevin had a cleaning lady come and have the whole house cleaned, top to bottom! ((Really, could you ask for a better gift?)) If that wasn't enough, on Friday I was surprised at work with some BEAUTIFUL flowers from Kevin and Bug.... and then today I got breakfast in bed that Kevin made ((it was REALLY good too)) pancakes, bacon and juice. Then after Church I got to do whatever I wanted... which was NOTHING! I laid in bed and caught up on my shows.... it was WONDERFUL.

Also what to say THANKS to MY mom, if you know her, you love her. You can't help it. She's an AMAZING person! She has touched countless lives. I often tell her (but not often enough) that if I could ever become half the woman she is, I could concur the world... Not only is she such an amazing mom (to both Kevin and I) she's a great and loving wife, sister, daughter, grammie, and friend...

As far as "the wonderful world of Athen" goes... His walking has improve 100% since he has had his tubes put in. He's talking... well.... not so much. Its better, but not "great" most of the things he says you wouldn't know what he was saying if you didn't know what he wanted.... most of his "words" are just the first few letters of what he want... "c-a" for "cup" "pi" for "pacie" "bi" for "bite" and "mo" for "more"... but he can say "BYE" no problem... He's too cute!


Kevin still doesn't have a radiology job... =( AND he has a kidney stone, has had it since Saturday Morning... we have already been the ER, doctor's office, Smith Northview for x-rays and back to doctors office... ((and that was all by Monday at 5pm))


As for me, I am just peachy!! Planning our anniversary trip ((is the big F-I-V-E year one!))
