SHOTS!

Well me made it thru it... the first week of school and our first round of shots... Athen was such a BIG boy... he, of course, cried when they first stuck him but after they were done and he had his pacie and was safe in my arms... all was right with the world. Kevin couldn't go cause he had that TERRIBLE virus and was sick as a dog. Luckly my mom could go with me... she was the one that held him... I wasn't such a "big girl" but I didn't cry so I thought I did pretty good....

So this virus is making its way thru the family. I think Athen had a touch of it but NOTHING like Kevin. Jett had it. Its still up in the air whether or not I am going to get it...

OH! Another thing that happened this week, Athen turned TWO months old Saturday! WOW can't believe it...

Pictures to come later...

First Day of "School"

Well... we made it. Athen was a big boy (as was I a "big girl"). And no, there were no tears! I know I am proud of myself...

Athen done really well, of course, cause he is a GREAT baby. I only called once and went by there at lunch. I thought that was pretty good.

Next milestone, Shots! That will come Friday, so be thinking of us, not sure who is going to be more upset me or Athen, thus far everything has bothered me more than him... his acid reflux, torticollis, first day of school... so kinda hope we keep the tread going... I would much rather be upset than have him upset...

Oh and work, well it was work... it was good to see everyone and get back to things, but I sure do miss that little man... IF any one knows how I could have the best of both worlds.. you know a pay check/insurance/retirement and stay with my little man... Please let me know! =)

The picture is of Athen ready for his first day of school in his new school clothes... he's excited, can't you tell?

Torticollis

Found out this pass week that Athen has a condition called torticollis... it means "twisted neck" If you notice in most of his pictures his head is always to the right. Well that is cause his muscle in there is tighten and has be stretched thru physical therapy... It doesn't seems to bother him too much and already seems to be getting better... he should have a full recovery. More then likely he is like this because there was "no room in the Inn" for him... also amniotic fluid is another cause, both of which I had.
Here is a website to learn more about it. If detected early and treated there should be no life long problems...

ps.. be thinking of me, tomorrow is my first day back to work and Athen's first day at day care... =( my heart already hurts....

Kisses only for Athen...

For those who have missed the "Jett Stories" here is one for you....

Jett now has a new thing that no one can kiss him. ALL his kisses are for Athen and not one else. One night while he was at Grammie and Papa's house, Grammie was getting ready for bed and went to tell Jett good night and give him a kiss and a hug... well she must have forgotten that all his hugs and kisses were for Athen cause she kissed him and he was SO upset telling her "those are Athen's kisses!!" he finally gave in and she could kiss him on his back... all other kisses were for Athen.

Too cute. I thought that he would just say that for a day or two but nope, its been a couple of weeks now and he still maintains that all his kisses are Athen's...

Day Care...

Well its official.. my baby will start day care on Monday. I am so sad that I have to leave him. However he is not too far from me or my mom so that's a plus. I can go and see him at lunch and just minutes away to get him after work... Can't believe he is already 7 weeks old...

New Ineterest...

Well after bragging about Athen and he's new found interest in his toys, he has found another one........ TV! Not sure if you can really tell in this picture, but Athen is sitting in front of his activity guy with his head turned watching tv... (mental note: turn TV off during "play time" or as the book Baby Wise calls it "Awake Time")

Another First...

Well last night was Athen's first night away from home... He had a spend the night party with Grammie and PaPa... I am sure they had lots of fun!

side note: there is a reason he spent the night with my parents, I have been sick with cold/flu/sinus infection/something since Monday so I asked them to keep him so I could get some rest. Even though he sleeps through the night its still not "sleep" when you wake up to just check on them and such... wish I could say I was feeling better, but I am sure the rest did some good...

TOYS!!!

Thank you to who ever gave us this activity gym...

Athen LOVES it... we didn't think he did when we put him on the floor, only to realize you would have to Stretch Armstrong to reach it.. but once I put him in his carrier and then up to the toys to he could see them and hit them it was all she wrote... he loves it! Its so funny its like you can see him thinking about how to move his arms to make his toys move... its so wonderful! I am sure going to miss him discovering all these new things... I hope he will save all those moments for us and not day care...

You stay at home mom's are too lucky, I never realized how luck until now... I only have one more week at home with my little man...

I am still looking for a sitter... the woman that was going to keep the little man had to cancel due to the fact her husband has taken ill.... so the search is on! I only have two weeks... or I will be taking him to the court house with me.. LOL!

Funny Story...

Just had to share this funny story...
after a night of patting and rubbing and walking the floors with Athen I woke up to a patting noise that was kinda loud... I looked over and Kevin was sleeping and patting his chest... It hit me that he was "burping" the baby however, Athen was in his crib sleeping... (and yes I did say he was sleeping in HIS CRIB! OK so its in our room but hey, he's out of our bed) I guess he was just dream about the hours before... I thought it was too funny! He even had his other arm up like he was hold the baby... its was a hoot!

Feeling Better...

I haven't put this on the blog yet until we knew what was going on with the little man and was hopefully getting better...

Athen has acid reflux... no fun! But we have put him on some better milk and things are looking up... he also had thrush but that is under control as well, although the medication made him not a happy baby (upset his little tummy)

Athen is really a great baby. He only cries when there is something "wrong" hungry, wet, needs to burp, or if he is tired... (he got that from me) other than that he is just too happy. We are SO bless to have such a good baby...

My Friends....

Here are my friends I love to swing and watch them... but after a while I get bored with them and ready to move on to something else, usually sleeping...

Father & Son...

Just want to share this tender moment I captured of Kevin loving on Athen after swinging him on mama and daddy's back porch, just the "boys" hanging out...

My Hands...

Athen LOVES his hands... if you will notice, he has both thumbs between his fingers... he always has his hands like this... I guess he won't be a thumb sucker... he won't ever be able to find them...

we think this is too cute!

Happy New Year!

Athen would like to wish everyone a safe and happy new year! Below are some pictures to took on New Year's Day...
