Big Boy Bed

Today I went to the Kid's Sale ((and no, they do not sale kids there)) I have been looking for a toddler bed but didn't want to pay full price of one, I have intentions on having a bed made for Athen and a toddler bed will 'do for now' Anyhoo, so when I walked in I seen this bed.... It WAS a "CARS" bed.... I transformed it a bit to better suite our decor =)

I came home and had it in my SUV, Athen came inside and said "mom-mom, ther a prize in yours car for me" "come wook!!" we went outside and he said "see! I told yous" WOOK WOOK, my prize mom-mom, you bought for me? its beautiful"

He didn't even know what it was =) He is very excited about his big boy bed. I told him that NO PIES ((pacie)) goes in the big boy bed. He threw his pacie in the trash.... we shall see how it goes tonight with him having free rein AND no pie...

Speaking of, since we have a big boy bed, I am getting selling his crib and his changing table - if anyone knows anyone....

Lots of changes for Athen in the last month... He's getting SOOO big. I am so very proud of him, he doing so well with his potty training. He's talking is really coming a long as well. I am constantly trying to think of ways to stimulate him and getting him learning new things... We have concurred right and left... still need to work on those states, and how to spell his name, writing.....

Cake, Four Wheeler, and 2 3/4

Boy oh boy I am WAY behind... So, lets see...
Well, the first pictures are of Kevin and Athen making a cake.... They are best buds!
The 4wheeler ones are of Athen 'new' four wheeler that Grammie and Pop-Pop bought him... Its a work in progress, he's not a natural like Jett is....
There are lots of stories I want to post... my heart just isn't in it... so enjoy the pictures and I will post more later about Athen turning two and three quarter years old.
Oh I will say that potty training is going great. I would consider him trained. He hasn't had an accident in several days and today he knew he had to toot-toot and told me and did it with out going and hiding! YAY!!!

Proud Mom-Mom

Odd the things that makes a mom proud.... but if you area mom, you will be able to relate...

Today we had a successful potty day.... NO accidents. Athen FINALLY told me he had to toot-toot and went to the potty instead of running and hiding and going in his underwears. And let me just tell you, I am SOOOO thankful!!!!! Cause that would have been a trip outside to be hosed down! I was so proud of him!! Its a big deal you know, going number two on the potty. I just hope he STAYS with it.... I don't do dirty underwears! =)

Here are some pictures I took today. Athen and I took a walk down to the pond and feed the fish....

Potty Report

If you don't have a toddler and or a BOY toddler you may not can appreciate the potty training progress....
Its going wonderful!!! He has not had any accidents at day care and none last night ((other than #2, but this early in the game - I don't think that counts...?)) Last night every time he had to go, Athen announced - "Got to pee pee...." and off running to the bathroom he went. He does everything himself. He needs no help from Mom, and doesn't mind telling me so... =(
Now with that said... We really haven't been out in public where a bathroom and someone to remind you isn't a few feet away... but this is only week one....
OH and I truly believe that my "meanness" about candy in the past has really paid off... Cause it REALLY is a TREAT to him. If he had it all the time in the past, it wouldn't be anything to him.... all I can say is.... "mama knows BEST " =)

Athen really is a WONDERFUL child. I couldn't have asked for better for us. He has always slept thru the night, he was very easy to get off the bottle, he's a great eater, diapers - GONE..... now, if I could just do something with those pacies.... ah, pick your battles =)

Have a great weekend!!!

Potty Training, Day 5

NO ACCIDENTS!!! Ok, well none at daycare. Only had one last night, and really wasn't his fault. He hadn't gone at all before, during, or after church. So when we got home he HAD TO GO, he made it to the bathroom but couldn't get his jeans undone and down in time... Oh well, it happens. However, he did toot-toot in the potty for the first time since training yesterday. He really didn't want to but he did it, so proud =)
So, for all the mom's out there - my advice would be skip the pull ups and put them in underwear. They KNOW when they wet in underwear, not so much in pull ups.... that's my theory and Im stick'n to it... =)

Hi Guys!

So, apparently underwears come with 'independent' powers.
I believe I have stated before, Athen is an over achiever. Not only did we tackle potty training last night, Oh no, that just wasn't enough independence for Athen... nope, he had to take it a step further.
This morning a little after 8, Kevin and I are laying in bed still asleep and we hear "hi guys!" Yeppers, you guessed it. It was Athen, IN OUR ROOM! So I asked Kevin if he left this bed rail down or his door open last night, Nope. So Athen woke up, got out of his crip, opened his door, and made his way to our room.
As I have also stated before, this makes me SUPER sad cause no more days of him just laying in bed till someone comes and gets him, no more extra few minutes or sleep... =(
I REALLY thought I had till he was AT LEAST three...
Here is another problem, he can open the front door too. I mean unlock it and open it.... Not sure what I am going to do about that yet.... Maybe put a alarm on it or something??? EKKK I don't know! Stink my baby is growing up!

Potty update, things are going well. Athen pottied this morning after he got up. We had to put a diaper on him to go to church cause that's all I had. After church we went to get him some underwears. I was ((really kris, I was!)) going to get him some with a character on it - you know know the whitie-tightie kind... yeah well couldn't find any he (me) liked sooo.... these are what we got, really - how stink'n cute is he?!?!?

Boxer Briefs!!!

When I ask Athen "You go to go to the potty?" which is like every other minute... He graps his teetee, feels it and says "nope, not got to teetee" he's a goober!!

Its about time....

**Subject matter may contain graphic details and is for mature audience only**

So today I decided, what better time than now to start potty training... I mean really its about time. So, I had planned on going to town and getting all the supplies I would need. However, mother nature had others plans ((hmmm, maybe a sign??)) Anyhoo, I had a pair of boxers here, so heck, way not.... So when Athen got up from his nap I asked him if he had to teetee... "Nope." So I told him lets try. He was relatively dry when he woke up so I figured he would have to go.... He was 'right' nope, he didn't go. So I put a diaper on him. Went about my business, and low and behold if he didn't teetee... so I said, that's it. Underwear time. So I got out the boxers. Told him NOT to teetee in them and if he had to go to tell me and he would go on (at) the potty. An hour later, no accidents and one successful trip to the potty. He has to stand up and teetee, he doesn't like to 'sit' to pee. He also doesn't like an audience... me made me get out of the bathroom before he would go... And when he doesn't have go to, he holds his teetee up and looks down at it and says... "Nope, all gone. Don't have to teetee..." So about hour and half into our adventure... He comes running in my room saying "got to teetee" and he is butt naked... and yeppers you guessed it, he had already went... But it was just a little bit. And from what I had read, it to be expected....
**update, I told Athen go and teetee before we put bed clothes on ((and a diaper for the night)) He ran into my bathroom, shut the door, pulled down his pants, lifted the lids, teeteed, pulled his pants up, AND THIS IS KEY - PUT THE LIDS DOWN, flushed and said "I teeteed, all done" and come out of the bathroom.... SUPER proud was he ((and I!!!))

Anyhoo, I will go tomorrow after church and get him some whitie-tighties with Hanny Manny or something to make it fun for him... I did give him chocolate as a reward for going on the potty... =)

breakfast time

This morning I got up to make Athen breakfast, I was SUPER excited cause I made him pancakes that looked like "mouse".... and I just KNEW he was going to FLIP over them....Yeah, no so much.... He didn't even comment... =(

Here is a video of him praying at breakfast.... he's getting better with it, kinda =)

{he is saying "God, our Father"}

((sorry its side ways - I swear its the right way when I play it from where its saved, UGH!))

Athen really does have an abundant about of common sense (I think) For example this morning we were out side on his swing set and there was a spider web with a spider and then there was another smaller spider, I made the comment "aw, look at that baby spider" and he replied "there's he's mama, where's he's daddy???" smart!

He is also into "babies" which are really his mickey mouses (yeah he has like 4 of them I think) anyway, this morning he got out of bed with his baby.... put his baby in the stroller took it for a stroll, then he needed to do something so I had to watch the baby and rock it, and hold it and love it - per his directions. Last night he had the stroller out and said there was a baby in it, I asked him "whats your baby's name? " he said "baby name, Kevin" hahaha!!!

Fun with Family

As most afternoons here lately, Athen and I went to see Becky after work/daycare today. Kevin was there waiting on us. Sharon, Leiland, and Nana were also there. They were going to go swimming and invited us along. I didn't have any "swim" clothes with me, nor did Kevin. But he ran up to the store and got him some and got Boo some swimmies... Well.... just as SOON as Kevin was walking up with his swimming attire and swimmies (athen's not his =) ) in hand... Guess who JUMPS in the pool with nothing but fearlessness... Yeppers, that would be my child... So in I go after him... fully dressed. I am pretty sure that he would have not drown, but I wasn't going to wait around to see if he was going to "sink or swim"

Needs less to say, he had his floats on the REST of the time. Although, really, its not his fault... he doesn't know the difference in having them on and not... he just knows pool=fun =)

The boys had a really good time playing together and eating dinner together.... Here are a few pictures I got with my camera phone... I think we all had a good time... it was nice to enjoy some sun ((not so much the wet clothes part))

Athen in the "kiddie" pool... This one was just his size, however the bigger one looked way more fun!!

The boys getting ready to eat some PIZZA!!!
((work it sharon!))
Don't know what in the world Nana is doing!!!

Blog'n away....

Its been a while, I know... Again, just haven't had it in me...
Monday I went to Open House with Jett. And let me just say.... I will NEVER make it thru Athen going to school, I teared up with Jett... its just soooo big and he's soooo little.

Jett is already at home in his new class room....

And although today isn't Athen's first day of 'school' I am going to TRY and do the first and last day pictures.... So why not start with Jett's first day.... Anyhoo, today was PJ day at Mrs Carolyn's.... Here is my "little" man in his new 4T pj's ((yeppers, 2 1/2 and wears 4t))

Athen has really started talking A LOT... he says all kinds of things... like

"I said YES!" ((or no, which ever works to his advantage))

"See, I told you..."

"COME HERE!"

"Listen to me"

"Look at me"

This morning He told me..." I give daddy kiss" "here daddy, kiss me" "Now you turn mom-mom" "I want you kiss daddy bye" Then he wanted me to kiss Diezel bye too, I drew the line there!

He still have no interest in the potty... He will however tell you his stinks and to change his hinney....

"I wet, need hinney changed, come on mommom... change hinney."

He is having an issue with "huh" and "what" and makes you repeat things which drives me NUTS!!

Oh and his imagination is out of this world... I am beginning to wonder if he SEE'S things.... like the other day on the way home... he stares out the windshield and says "OH!!! WOOK MOMMOM! Its a horse!! I ride that horse, I a cowboy... woohooo!"

Plus he "sees" animals all the time.... snakes and polar bears are his fav right now... But he doesn't stick with one thing... its all different animals...

Anyhoo, that's whats going on in our little home... Kevin is doing really well with his new job and should be working out of town a lot more coming up in the next couple of weeks... so please keep him and his travels in your prayers...

Becky is doing well, Athen and I have been taking her dinner and visiting with her... If anyone would like her address to send a card, email me and I will give it to you....

....This picture is for you Bev, Athen STILL loves his clock!!!
