27, time for our little bit of heaven

Well, another month has come and gone... Can someone just stop time for a bit so I can soak up this fun age for a bit longer, cause I know in a blink of an eye, it will be gone...
Here are some fun things about Athen at 30 months
Seems as though every word ends with a "t" - "moonT" "GoneT" so on and forth...

I think he may be a teacher, Athen loves to point at things and ask you the questions, he will turn his book around, just like a teacher does, and point and say "what's dat color momma?"

"what's letter? what it say?" ("say" meaning what sound does that letter make)

Athen is the BEST pouter - EVER!!! Oh my, you must see it in person to appreciate.

He is pretty good about asking for things, even if he knows he can't have it, he will ask before he tries to take it...

Is scared of fish, frogs, and pretty much anything that crawls... He likes snakes, till he sees one in person, then not so much...

May very well eat us out of house and home

Started drinking milk again

Talking a lot more

Isn't very affectionate. He will give you a kiss or hug if you ask for it, but as far as just sitting in your lap or loving on you, not his cup of tea...

Athen is a V-E-R-Y active boy. Oddly enough, it doesn't really bother me all that much....

And now for the pictures.... =)

Out fished the Boys!

Yesterday Nikki, Eric, Kevin and I went out fishing. Since it was suppose to rain here, the boys got the bright idea of going off to go fishing so... at 5:30 in the morning (keep in mind this is my day OFF) I get up, get ready and we head to Bainbridge to Lake Seminal. Fished for maybe 30-45 minutes, looks like rain, head in eat lunch...clears up... fish for another 45 minutes more rain...Head home. So, its nice and sunny in good ol V-town so we hit Lake Alapaha... Where I fish with my trust ol' bream buster and cricks, really you just can't go wrong with that set up. That's how I caught my 1.1 lb blue gill (see picture) then the boys were tired of not catching any bass so they went to "their spot" and I couldn't really fish for bream and what not there. So I told them I wanted to try the bass thing. I really just more or less tried to entertain myself while they were fishing and low and behold - I caught me a bass AND it was the largest catch of the day (almost 2 lbs)! {Really, I think BOTH of mine were probably the biggest} Anyhoo, I have a wonderful time! The boys did too, although they didn't catch the biggest, I think they enjoyed seeing me catch my first "real" bass...

{Pardon my looks... I didn't know I would be the star of the day =) }

I didn't get any of the rest of the days catch - but you aren't missing much =D

...and Two Shall Become One...

and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.
What a great year this has been! God has TRULY blessed us. Although we may not have material things, nor "riches" we are BLESSED! Kevin is truly a blessing and encouragement to me. I am so proud of him and to be able to be called his wife. Although many thought it "wouldn't last" I can honestly say that Kevin and I are the best things that have happened to each other. I am proud to have a Christian household and be raising our child with a Christian husband. I love you babe, more than you will ever know!

Old is New Again...

Athen got a "new" kitchen from his favorite cousin, Jett! He plays with it every time he goes to Aunt Ninnie and Uncle Eric's house. Jett however does not.... thus it found a new home at our house! Which I am super excited about cause this seems to entertain him, and if you have a toddler more so a BOY toddler and work full time - him entertaining himself is HUGE! =)
Thanks Jettie-Man for sharing!

*side note: PLEASE pardon the shirt, he got his dirty at daycare and this is what he came home in, I didn't think to change him before taking his picture*

pictures

some pictures I took for Athen's mother day cards that I didn't post....

A Quick update on Carl Gene Bradford {You may have noticed that he was on the pray request side this week} Seems as though he has some blockage, but not a stroke and they put a pace maker in. He is home and doing much better. Thank you for the prayers.

Proud of you Buddy!

My little Jettie-Man is now a kindergarten graduate... Bitter sweet I would say...
I didn't get hardly any good pictures, the lights was terrible and I was kinda far away... but he's a few of my FAVORITE nephew!

Grammie and Papa, so proud - Athen won't have a K-5 Graduation,

he will be attending public school

You know, I never really thought that Nikki and I looked alike.... Yeah, maybe we do...
This, Jetts goodie bag, and his two cards with MONEY in them were probably his favorite part...

Go Ride a Bike!

{There is a back story to the post title, I won't share it on here for I wouldn't want to embarrass my hubby, but those of you who know it....there's a free laugh for ya}

So Athen had his check up today, its been 15 months since he had his tubes put in, and................. seems as though we are good to go! One like I said, is coming out and the other is still in there. The one that is out the ear is functioning on its own properly and the tube that is still in is still functioning as well. Dr Allen says no need to come back to see him unless Athen's doctor seems to think so. KNOCK ON WOOD, Athen has not been to his pediatrician since the first of December! I do so hope that he won't get back until his three year check up this December...

Anyhoo, all is well.... The balance thing, well..... who knows, I think there is something going on there.... may just have to wait it out....

Little Ears

Tomorrow Athen has an appointment with Dr. Allen (ear doctor) I can see one of his tubes and I think I can see the other one, plus its time for him to have a check up cause it was a year in February. I (my mother and Kevin may disagree - but we all know, a mother knows best =) ) think that his balance and clumsiness has gotten a bit worse here lately... Said all that to say, say a little prayer for him tomorrow.... we may have another around of tubes ahead of us...

Happy Mothers Day to...ME!!!!!

Just in case you were wondering, and I know you were... I have the bestest hubby! {if you didn't already know that from HIS previous post =) } On Mothers day I just got two cards, which was FINE by me cause I really don't buy into the whole holiday thing anyway - I know some do, but my honey shows and tells me he loves and appreciates me all year around, Id rather hear it on a day when no one is telling him he has to... ANYHOO, So today, I walk in, and the WHOLE house is cleaned!!! {If you have been here, you would know that was HUGE} I just don't have/make the time to be a housekeeper, I just don't. Therefore, Kevin had someone come in and clean it for me!!! You know what I love ALMOST as much as sleep??? A clean house - and if you know me, that's a HUGE statement, cause I L-O-V-E me some sleep!!!

Thanks again Sugar Doodles!!!

as you can see, my day has gotten BETTER thank you baby for putting things into prospective, that you and Athen and all the other positive people in our lives is what matters.

Emotions

Anger, Disappointment, Hurt, Resentment.... All God give emotions... its what you DO with these emotions that makes a world of difference... I, tent to act on them. Some may even say "lash out" Could it be the devil testing me? Or even God teaching me? Do certain people come in your life to teach you life lessons? If so, is it divine intervention that they do...? Is it true that people in our lives mold us to be who we are? And if that is true, then it could be for good OR bad...? If there are good people in our lives, shouldn't be gravitate to them? and if there are bad ones, should we not remove ourselves from them? In many senses its seems so simple to me, live a Godly life, do what God and the bible commands of you, and work hard. Then the small things in live tend to creep in, making them the BIG things... make the above stated ways of life near impossible... This is a daily struggle for me. I need prayers for wisdom and strength to know what to do and HOW to do it in a Godly manner. Even though I am human, that doesn't give me a "pass".... I have the awesome responsibility to raise a child to be a strong christian man some day, thus I must lead my life by example. He only needs to be surrounded by good, Godly, moral people that he can look up to.... I would welcome any and all encouragement...
