Have a Look-See

For the record....

If you read my blog, you obviously know how smart Athen is... For the record, Athen knowing his letter, colors, numbers, and shapes is due in LARGE part to his daddy sitting down and doing his puzzles with him...

And to prove just how smart he is.... Yeppers, Athen knows about 95% of what sound the letters make... Smart, I know. =)
((That, however; is due to Letter Factory - If your child likes to watch DVD's I recommend this one...))
We are currently working on Right/Left and then money - he loves him some "monies goes in pocket"

Just wondering, but is this "advanced" for his age? I know him being a boy plays a factor as well... Just wondering, even if he's not - I think he's a genius!

The Boys

I am really thinking about making a show of the boys and putting it on Youtube or something... Surely if Zach & Cody can make millions so can these too.

This is Athen loving "dog" (Jett was being a dog....) The dog house.... {wonder if Eric ever has to sleep there???}

Baptism

If you happen to be in the email loop this seems to be a HOT topic. I have just realized that there are so many different religions for the soul purpose of the devil at work. He WANTS us to think its "ok" to live as WE want to live and have no regard or only partial regard for what the Bible says. Not just on baptism, but other topics as well. If you really just STOP, put your own personal feelings aside and READ with an OPEN mind and heart, you will see what the bible says about not only baptism but other issues as well. The bible is our key to the gates of heaven. The devil is a key to the gates of hell. Really, just think about it - isn't it very possible that the devil has convinced MANY minds and ultimately souls that his way - the wrong way is the "right" way. That if you are just a "good person" and you go to church, whatever church that may be you are "ok" that you are going to heaven. Cause if he can convince you of that, then there is no reason to strive for what is right, what is true. The devil has WON. Cause you think that you are "ok" Snicky that devil. We, as Christians, are to spread the word and the truth as the bible teaches it. It is not MY opinion, its is what is in the bible, what God has said. Anyone can read it for themselves. Being a Christian and doing the right things aren't easy or is it popular, if it were then "every one would be doing it"
I am not sure why people want to argue their view point of baptism. The bible is very clear on it, so isn't it very possible that the devil has convinced you other wise to KEEP you from going to Heaven?
Here is a great link for beginner studiers and/or for those who want to search the truth for themselves and not what they have been told or have heard all their lives.
http://www.forrestpark.org/BibleStudy/GodsPlan.pdf If you read it with an OPEN mind, heart and bible.
I think whether you want to admit it or not ((and not is only keeping you from Heaven, which SHOULD be our ultimate goal in life, that is our soul propose for living)) you will see very clearly the actions that must be taken to be a Christian and have the chance to go to heaven. Just think, if YOU see and understand the truth-how many souls you could take with you to heaven.

Happy Birthday Nana

Today is Kevin's mom's (akak Nana) birthday. I, being the snicky person I am - did up a surprise party for her at her apartment. I had Kevin and Athen take her out to dinner while I was busy at work on the decor....I Like to think that she was surprised - She told us that this is the first time she's ever had a SURPRISE birthday party....

Pet Peeves...

I need an outlet... my blog, my outlet.

***Stop Reading if you are not going to understand that these are MY thoughts***

I know that everyone has pet peeves, and everyone has different ones... One of mine is the lack of customer service in this country. If you are employed where you have contact with people - BE NICE. Its really not THAT hard is it? I mean, I understand that people have bad days and what not. But it shouldn't effect your work to the point that you are just down right rude to people. I can not stand when you go to a fast food establishment and the servers are rude. I get that they don't' get paid that much and they are probably not working in their "dream job" but the fact still remains that you are employed there and that is your job. So do it with a smile on your face! Check the attitude at the door! On that note... If you work in a professional place, be professional. This isn't home, this isn't the barn yard, so don't act like it. Don't be yelling and saying crude things and make crude jesters, don't be telling every Tom, Dick, and Harry that walks thru the door you life store. You are at your place of employment to do a job, do it. Another one of my pet peeves is lack of seriousness there is in getting married... Its NOT a "Oh, well if this doesn't work out, I'll just get divorced..." commitment. In my job I see it 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. And along with divorce, adultery. Has it ever occurred to anyone {Note, I haven't heard it put this way in any sermon} That SEX is a sacred that its the ONLY reason God gives for you to remarry. Not if your spouse hits you, not if they drink, do drugs, kill.... SEX is it. So, with common sense applied wouldn't people THINK that sex should be sacred??? That you shouldn't just be bedding down with whomever, whenever you like??? That it is meant for a MAN and WOMAN {Note: not a MAN and MAN nor a WOMAN and WOMAN} that are husband and wife to share. That is theirs and theirs alone to give to one another... Does people not realize the importance of it if that and that alone is the only reason God commanded us to be able to remarry? I would really like to hear a sermon that stress this point. I am sure that it could be done better than I have. I think that it should be stressed to teenagers, who think that its "OK" to have sex before they are married. I think it needs to be stress the IMPORTANCE of sex and what it MEANS. On to that fact, your children. How can parents love themselves more than their OWN children? How can they be SO selfish and so self destructive? How can they profess to "love" their children? Many people have told me "....you will understand when you have kids" I think this logic can apply here... I can now better understand the LOVE that you are have for your child. {side note, this love is not to be "more" than the one for your spouse - I am working on the biblical reference} I truly believe that their are people that are so selfish and so self absorbed that they can not love their own children - which, by the way, are probably the ones that professes to "love" their children all the time. "You are my world" "You are my love" "You are my everything" No they are not. So don't profess that they are. You are lying to yourself to make yourself feel better. Wake up, put your "big girl/boy pants" on and do an about face. Yes you should love yourself, if do not then you can't start to love anyone else. That is not what I am talking about. I am talking about selfishness. Really, that were LOTS of problems in relationships lay. Sleeping with someone else - Selfish, Worrying about you and you alone - Selfish. Spending money you don't have - Selfish.
I just needed to get this out of me... Again, my blog - my thoughts.

Blessing

Odd how you find blessing in funny ways... For Christmas, mom and dad got Athen a DVD player that hooks on the the head rest. Well not long ago it broke. No more movies on the way to and from daycare... The only one that I had in there was Letter Factor and since he knows all his letters now {it does however teach them the sounds - in which he's started to tell me "B, bah, bah, bah"} Anyhoo, I was a bit put out that the DVD player stopped working... HOWEVER, now since he doesn't have it to watch he looks at his books and talks to me. He says the funniest things. Yesterday he had his "Dora/Boots" book and it has letters in it. He turned the book so I could see it and would point to the letter and say "See, 'A' Momma?" I would say "Yes, I see it" he would say "Good Job, See 'B' Momma" so on and so forth... He really does make me laugh. He will also say "Find ____" whatever letter he's looking for and then gets SOOOOO excited when he "finds" it. I love him! So with all that said, it was a "good" thing that the DVD player is broke - which I really don't know that it is or not. Kevin is going to have a look-see and if its not it will remain in the car, just turned "off" and we will use it if/when we go on trips... Or until I find another educational movie to play him so he can learn even more!

My oh my how time flies... Today is 29 months since Athen blessed our lives. He is so smart and into all kinds of things...
Some of his new things are - If you say "Thank You" he says "Ur lecom" If you sneeze he will say "Bless You" You ask him "What are you doing?" He will say "Nuff'n"
Tonight at dinner he said the prayer.... "God, food, AMEN!" Sometimes he calls Jett "Jettie-Man" There are lots more things, I just can't think of them at the moment... Here are some pictures of Athen at 29 months....

Chatty Kathy

Athen most defiantly gets his talkativeness from his Daddy. Athen's newest thing to do in the car is talk on the phone... If you are on the phone he says "Who's dat?" you answer, then he says "I wanna talk to _______" He can carry on a pretty good conversation, then again - I know what he's saying. Most of the time whom ever is on the other end of the line does not. And if you are not on the phone and he sees it he will ask to call random people.... Jett, Ninnie, Sherry, Daddy, so on and so forth.... When he can really talk, he's going to give Jett a run for his money, and if you know Jett- that's a WHOLE lot of talk'n there!

Hang'n with the Boys

Finally, we have some nice warm weather we can enjoy... Last night Mom, Nikki and I with the boys in tow got supper and took it to the park and ate and let the boys play... It was the park by the college - Drexel I think? I liked it cause the playground has a ramp instead of steps - if you know my two left footed child....you will know why I am not a fan of steps.

Then today Mom cooked breakfast for all of us and then we got the "water slide" out and the boys ( Kevin included, and don't you know - I didn't have my camera!!) tried it out. They had a blast! You will note, Jett is in none of the pictures - he said "Playing in the water reminds me of Bobby Tucker and it makes me nervous" Haha, I have to meet this man! Really, he can't be THAT scary, right?

Then tonight mom and Nikki cooked dinner at mom's house and Aunt Sherry came over... Here's Athen coloring with "Sherrrreeeee"
My little man got him some sun today...

Again, I love him so good...

N-E-V-E-R a dull moment!

If you know Kevin, you know that he is the "life of the party" With that said.... Thursday Nights the Young Professionals from Church gets together and have fun, food, and fellowship. This past Thursday night we went to play Putt-Putt. I had been told that is wasn't worth the money and was so boring.... little did they know, I was with the next Tiger Woods =)

Everything was going well.... Kevin was doing pretty good!

Until we came to the hole in front of the water fall...

And his ball went in.....

...and so did Kevin....

Yes, he's for hire - need some entertainment???
