Lots to blog about...

Well this has been a busy week in my little Athen's life... On Friday the turned FIVE months old! He also got his first tooth then too. He is now working on a 2nd one... (and the doctor said he was too young to be teething... Athen is an overachiever!) He is getting closer and closer to crawling and sitting up... in another month he will be doing all kinds of things... He is starting to feed himself, he can get about 1/2 thru a bottle and then well you have to finish up. Here are some pictures a friend of ours took at their baby shower... (that's Kevin that is holding him...)

FIVE MONTHS...

This picture was take just FIVE months from today, boy how your life can change in less than a year...

I know I SWORE I wouldn't let anyone see a picture of me this BIG, but I have learned that crow goes best with a diet coke...

I know I know I know.... its been a MONTH since I have blogged! Athen is keeping me busy! Lets see what's new... well Athen is a rollie-pollie-ollie! He is all over the place. Last night I was in the bed room and he was in the living room in the middle of the floor, next thing I knew Kevin was calling me in there to see that he was by the door... he can really get around. Ummm what else... well he's been sick. I have kept him out of day care this week (Thanks Grammie and Aunt Sherry for helping out!) Athen is trying to crawl... he will get that little butt in the air, really doesn't get anywhere but he's trying. I think he will be by six month. The picture is just a snap shot Kevin took of him... Oh, Athen got a new toy... he's really not all that sure about it yet... he likes it in small doses. He is immobile in it, so he doesn't care for that.














Well I am going to TRY and do better about the blogging... Promise!

BUMBO!!!

So I know I haven't blogged in a while... and I have also forgot to mention that Athen got a bumbo... now this is a GREAT concept... however, if you have a child that likes to pitch a fit and arch its back... this may not be the ideal thing for you... we have to be right with Athen when he is in his bumbo... but he likes to be in it and feel like he is a "big boy" but it doesn't last too long...

Oh, and last week Athen rolled over all by himself... he has only done it once and he really didn't know what he was doing... but we are trying to give him more and more floor time so he can be a quick study and be rolling all over the place....

I love that Athen is getting older and learning new things... our next mile stone that we (ME) are looking forward to the day that he can put his pacie in his mouth if it falls out... yep that will be a grand day! The other will be when I can throw him on my hip and GO!!...

Athen is getting VERY strong... and when ever he is sitting in something whether being car seat, bouncy seat... whatever he tries and sit up... he can hold himself up for a pretty good for a long time... so now we have to MAKE SURE we strap him in, right Grammie? =)

Well that should get everyone up to date in the Wonderful World of Athen... shots at the end of this month... no fun!

Also some news on the Athen front... he has learned to laugh, not sure if "learned" is the correct word, is laughing a learned behavior? Anyhoo, yep he can chuckle with the best of them... but only when Diezel is barking, don't ask me why... but that is the only thing we have found so far that gets him going that good... I am working HARD on getting it on video and then posting it on the web, so stayed tuned for that as well...

ps... Please keep my best Friend Tyler in your prayers, a good friend of his lost his father Friday. Please pray for Tyler and his friend.

THREE Months Old...

I am THREE months old today! I am such a big boy as you can see from all the things I am trying to do... Here is a picture of my and my daddy (who by the way has the most votes and "won" the Look-A-Like contest...) I am trying my hardest to sit up all by myself... but I am just not there yet give me another month or so... I will get it! Well going to let mommy blog now...

So Athen is three months old today. He has been at my parents since last Friday night... Kevin and I have been sick! But we are better now and just can't get over how much he can change in less than a week... yep pretty sure he won't be staying away that long again, we miss him so much! We are blessed to have Grammie and PaPa ready, willing, and able... Thanks Grammie and PaPa for taking such good care of the little man!

Kevin took some video tonight I am going to try and see how I can post it on here for those who don't get to see Athen as often as they my like (and for Aunt Sherry to get a "fix" to help her make it thru the day... =) ) If any one knows how you do it, I would love some direction....

Ok so I don't really think Athen really knows what he was doing... but hey he did it! Not even three months yet... I am going tomorrow to get him the handles to put on there....

(PLEASE don't look at his outfit! I am so embarrassed! I just put some pants on him when we got home so he could be "comfy")

Oh, btw, has any one ever used a Bumba? Anyone have one? I am trying to find Athen one... not one to be had in Valdosta...

Tummy Time!

Athen is getting were he holds his head really well. When he is in his car seat and he's awake, you see him lift his whole body I can just "hear" him saying "I am getting out of here!"

So Athen gets very little tummy time... "why?" you may ask.... well just after this shot he spit up everywhere... he does that when he is on his tummy. I guess its a part of the acid reflux...???

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ok so I "cheated" I scanned and used the Valentine's card that Athen mailed out for his blog... I wanted to take a picture so you can see his shirt it says "Loved" on it... its too cute... but he wore it to school today and got it dirty... so those pictures will have to come later... anyhoo hope all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!! oxox ~Athen

Notice that Athen is sleeping with his head turned left... a few weeks ago he couldn't do that. He's torticollis is lots better!

Ok here is proof... Athen sleeping with UGA, and yep that my bunny beside him... nope wasn't kidding I really do sleep with a bunny...

I told it would happen.... I am way behind on getting some pictures up... but here is one with Athen asleep with his UGA that Mrs Strange gave to him... I have waited a while before letting him sleep with it... but he really seems to like it... he likes to have something to hold on to... (ok truth time... I as well have to have something to hold on to while I sleep... and no its not Kevin... I have a stuffed bunny I sleep with... and yes if you have ever heard my mom tell it that I took it with me on my Sr. trip and on my honeymoon and there is one more to add to the list... to SGMC to have the little man.. its all true! Just have to have it...) I guess UGA with be Athen's "bunny"... I promise I am going to take and post more pictures... (oh this picture is him ready and waiting to leave for church... that's why he has a hat on)

BTW, Daisy... working on trying to figure out how to post a video.... others have done it so I know it can be done... and PLEASE tell John-John "Happy Late Birthday" I am so sorry I didn't ever call... I thought about it, got busy, thought about it, got too late... I know you understand and I will TRY my HARDEST to call on your birthday... must get your correct number mom said y'all had a new one...?

SHOTS!

Well me made it thru it... the first week of school and our first round of shots... Athen was such a BIG boy... he, of course, cried when they first stuck him but after they were done and he had his pacie and was safe in my arms... all was right with the world. Kevin couldn't go cause he had that TERRIBLE virus and was sick as a dog. Luckly my mom could go with me... she was the one that held him... I wasn't such a "big girl" but I didn't cry so I thought I did pretty good....

So this virus is making its way thru the family. I think Athen had a touch of it but NOTHING like Kevin. Jett had it. Its still up in the air whether or not I am going to get it...

OH! Another thing that happened this week, Athen turned TWO months old Saturday! WOW can't believe it...

First Day of "School"

Well... we made it. Athen was a big boy (as was I a "big girl"). And no, there were no tears! I know I am proud of myself...

Athen done really well, of course, cause he is a GREAT baby. I only called once and went by there at lunch. I thought that was pretty good.

Next milestone, Shots! That will come Friday, so be thinking of us, not sure who is going to be more upset me or Athen, thus far everything has bothered me more than him... his acid reflux, torticollis, first day of school... so kinda hope we keep the tread going... I would much rather be upset than have him upset...

Oh and work, well it was work... it was good to see everyone and get back to things, but I sure do miss that little man... IF any one knows how I could have the best of both worlds.. you know a pay check/insurance/retirement and stay with my little man... Please let me know! =)

Torticollis

Found out this pass week that Athen has a condition called torticollis... it means "twisted neck" If you notice in most of his pictures his head is always to the right. Well that is cause his muscle in there is tighten and has be stretched thru physical therapy... It doesn't seems to bother him too much and already seems to be getting better... he should have a full recovery. More then likely he is like this because there was "no room in the Inn" for him... also amniotic fluid is another cause, both of which I had.

Kisses only for Athen...

For those who have missed the "Jett Stories" here is one for you....

Jett now has a new thing that no one can kiss him. ALL his kisses are for Athen and not one else. One night while he was at Grammie and Papa's house, Grammie was getting ready for bed and went to tell Jett good night and give him a kiss and a hug... well she must have forgotten that all his hugs and kisses were for Athen cause she kissed him and he was SO upset telling her "those are Athen's kisses!!" he finally gave in and she could kiss him on his back... all other kisses were for Athen.

Too cute. I thought that he would just say that for a day or two but nope, its been a couple of weeks now and he still maintains that all his kisses are Athen's...

Day Care...

Well its official.. my baby will start day care on Monday. I am so sad that I have to leave him. However he is not too far from me or my mom so that's a plus. I can go and see him at lunch and just minutes away to get him after work... Can't believe he is already 7 weeks old...
